Arbitration Award Registration

According to Section 17 of the Registration Act, 1908, it is mandatory to get an award registered in the sub registrar office if it is made in respect of an immoveable property. If the arbitration award is not registered, it will not be admissible as evidence. Similarly, the same section makes the registration of a compromise decree also compulsory if the compromise is in relation to an immoveable property which is not a matter in the suit.
